I love this type of cake: a loooot of fruits, mascarpone cheese, egg cream & whipped cream. A very fine and refreshing combination!

Acesta este combinatia mea preferata in materie de torturi: multe fructe, mascarpone, crema de oua si frisca. E racoros si fin!

Tort ski (Ski Theme Cake)

I could call this cake a speedy one. I received the order this morning around 10 am and had to finish it by 5 pm (I'm slow, or what?)...And I realized that it's a little bit harder to make an irregular shape (I know that it doesn't look like, but I tried my best to make it like a hill:-))) than a strait one... Anyway, because this cake will be eaten in Bucharest, I had to keep it as long as possible in fridge, that's why I choose to make this design instead of a ski boot - as we initially set (I know this cake it's less spectacular than a ski boot, but at that moment I thought this is the right thing to do.. to make a ski boot cake means to keep the cake a little bit longer on the counter top rather than the fridge + shipping = don't wanna thing about how the cake will end up... ). I really, really hope that the b-day guy liked it :-))

As putea sa spun ca tortuletul acesta este unul dintre cele mai rapide pe care le-am facut, tinand conta ca am primit comanda undeva in jurul orei 10 si l-am terminat pe la 17 (cred ca nu m-am oltenizat definitiv, si farama de ardeleanca din mine inca isi mai pune amprenta :-))))). Ma misc incet sau ce? Alta explicatie...n-am. Stiu ca nu prea pare, dar m-am straduit cat am putut sa fac un deal si mi se pare mult mai greu de facut decat un tort normal, perfect rotund (ca sa fiu mai precisa, o sectiune de cilindru :-)))).
Initial, acest tort trebuia sa fie sub form unui clapar care presupunea sa-l tin mai mult timp pe masa de lucru decat in frigider, asa ca, pe masura ce-l faceam am constientizat ca-l asteapta totusi un drum pana la Bucuresti si era destul de caldut afara. Ce sa mai, decat sa-l vad stricat la destinatie, am optat pentru acest design, care este mai putin spectaculos decat claparul (care abia astep sa-l realizez cu proxima ocazie). Eu sper din tot sufletul sa-i fi placut sarbatoritului :-)), caruia ii doresc un sincer La Multi Ani, dar mai ales multa sanatate!

A rich fruit (bananas, peaches & grapes) and mascarpone cheese cream cake, covered with whipped cream and decorated with chocolate & grapes. Happy b-day Adina, and I hope you liked it :-)))!

Un tortulet cu fructe (banane, piersici & struguri) si crema de mascarpone, imbracat cu frisca si decorat cu ciocolata & struguri La Multi Ani, Adina si sper ca v-a placut tortul:-)))!

Tort cadou nunta (Wedding Gift Cake)

A few weeks ago we received a wedding invitation from our neighbors, and unfortunately we won't be able to make it to their wedding... so this is our way to say...sorry, don't count on us :-((

About the cake... my source of inspiration was the wedding invitation, which was all golden, the white doves are a wedding symbol and the groom's passion. Both the doves and the pearls are painted with a white pearl dust (I love how the came out :-)))) . On the inside I used a mascapone cheese cream and wild berries, and a thin layer of chocolate. I hope they'll like our gift and have a beautiful wedding!

P.S. The orchids are my sweet hearts :-)))) And I think I found a new passion for sugarpaste flowers.

Tortuletul acesta este un cadou pentru vecinii nostri (vor avea nunta peste cateva zile)..din pacate nu le vom putea onora invitatia si acesta este modul nostru de a spune...ne cerem scuze, nu contati pe noi:-((

Acum, legat de tort..am folosit ca sursa de inspiratie invitatia primita care era aurie si asta este motivul pentru care am facut florile aurii, iar cei doi porumbei, care pe langa faptul ca sunt un simbol al nuntii sunt si pasiunea mirelui. Atat porumbeii cat si perlele de pe margine le-am pictat cu alb perlat si-mi place tare mult cum au iesit.

Interiorul este o crema de mascarpone cu fructe de padure si un stat fin de ciocolata... era draguta o sectiune... Oricum, sper sa le placa mica noastra atentie si sa aiba o nunta ca-n povesti!

P.S. Imi plac tare mult orhideele ...sunt alintatele mele :-))) si cred ca mi-am descoperit o noua pasiune pentru florile din pasta de zahar.

Tort cu maci (Poppy Cake)

I had the pleasure to make this poppies for a very special lady that really loves this simple and beautiful flowers. I hope that my sugar paste flowers are getting closer to the original, I mean...they're red, right? What could that be? Please, don't say roses :-)))))!

Mi-a facut o mare placere sa realizez acesti maci si sper ca se apropie cat de cat de original, adica...sunt rosii, nu? Ce-ar putea sa fie? Te rog, nu spune trandafiri :-)))))!

Tort palarie (Hat Cake)

My husband's great grandmother just turned ninety years old this day (90!!!). We had to celebrate this, so I decided to make her a hat cake because she was such an elegant woman. I hope she'll like it...because I don't like the way it came out the rose, I don't like the color at all...next time I hope I'll make it better.

Anyway, do you think we'll have the tiniest chance to get close to sixty, maybe seventy years old (not dreaming to get to ninety...)? Don't think so....we eat to much stress at breakfast...

Tort ciocolata & lamaie pentru Laura (Chocolate lemon cake especially for Laura))

I made this cake for my high school classmate (we shared the same desk, had the same name and now we live in the same town :-))) . I promised Laura that I'll visit her and couldn't make it for about two or three years (I know, shame on me!). And today was the big day! I was sooo excited and we had so much fun!

And about the cake, let me say that it's not any fancy one, it's simple on the outside and with a fine texture on the inside. Anyway, my husband said it's the most beautiful cake I've ever made.. should I believe him?

Primul meu tort din categoria sport! Sper sa-ti placa, Dan la fel de mult cat mi-a placut si mie. Oricum, mi-a facut o mare placere sa-l realizez!
